Hiya. My name is Jan-Michael Cart.
It's pronounced exactly how it's spelled; sometimes the hyphen causes confusion.
I am a Designer who loves crafting user interfaces and bringing them to life.
I’ve had the opportunity to work on some great projects with amazing people.
Currently, I am a UX Designer at Lumi Labs, an early-stage technology studio focused on building
consumer applications enabled by artificial intelligence.
At Zynga, I was directly responsible for prototyping and designing Words With Friends and Draw Something for iMessage Apps and Facebook Instant Games. Apple featured the iMessage app when the platform launched. I also helped with an effort to unite all Zynga games under a central rewards and cross-promotional network.
At Superlabs, I led the design on a social productivity tool and an experimental live streaming platform. I was responsible for quickly prototyping and iterating on many different ideas with a small team of engineers with quick turnaround. We were later acquired by Zynga, Inc.
At Apple, I worked on an extensive redesign of EasyPay touch, the point-of-sales app used by Apple retail stores worldwide. Additionally, I worked on iTunes Connect to bring new functionality to developers and content providers. I also did some production design work for GarageBand.
At The Red & Black, I was responsible for hiring, training, and managing designers for the daily and weekly editions of the newspaper and magazine. I also led the identity redesign of the print publications. I was part of the senior staff walkout that occurred when the board interfered with editorial content.
